Meet Your Upholsterer
Rachel Fletcher is a professional furniture upholsterer based in Knoxville, Tennessee. As the sole upholsterer for all University of Tennessee Clarence Brown Theatre shows she has upholstered a variety of historical and contemporary furnishings. She is also responsible for many of the sets' soft goods and interior textiles.
Most recently Rachel was sought out by a Design Producer at Extreme Makeover Home Edition to produce numerous upholstered items for the show while shooting in Knoxville, Tennessee. Look for the show to air over Thanksgiving 2012.
In addition to reupholstering furniture Rachel Fletcher also creates custom theatrical stage curtains, by hand, for local educational facilities as well as theatrical stage companies.
Rachel's background includes Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations but she has always been a hands-on creative soul. From wheel thrown ceramics to drawing, singing in her university choir as a first soprano, Rachel has always loved the arts.
Her latest passion, photography, has taken her 400 miles north of the Arctic Circle and off the coasts of Iceland and Greenland with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution as a Professional Photographer. She hits the sea again, in the fall of 2012, and will go as far North as Svalbard.
